LIVING EASTSIDE

Eclectic, Vibrant, Alive — That's East

East Austin has a unique energy and charm that keeps alive the best of Austin. Whether it’s shopping the myriad of art galleries, listening to live music, grabbing a bite at local restaurants, or visiting one-of-a-kind shops – you’ll find it here. Head out to Town Lake for a run, or just kick back with a cup of coffee and watch the world go by… East is the place to make it happen.

Progress Coffee

Only a block away from 6th & Brushy. Great coffee, food, and a relaxed and laid back atmosphere that chain cafes can't duplicate.

Local Restaurants

Local restaurants provide outstanding quality, value, and variety unparalleled in any other part of Austin. Places you may want to check out include:

• Cisco's Restaurant
Azul
Cantina Laredo

Dandelion Café
El Azteca
Juan in a Million
Los Comales

Maxine's Soul Kitchen
Ms. B's

Nuevo Leon
Stubb's BBQ

El Milagro Torilleria

Fresh torillas, chips, and salsa right next door.  Yum... Pick up some tonight!

The Arts

Live in the midst of a thriving artist community that continues to grow. Check out the East Austin Studio Tour held in November.

Terrazas Branch Public Library

Walk to a truly high quality library. Recently designated as a Michael and Susan Dell Wired for Youth Center, it is now equipped with a modern technology center. The Terrazas branch also was named "The Best Little Library in Texas" by the School Library Journal. Interestingly, the Terrazas branch shares the same archictect (Earl Swisher of The Lawrence Group Architects) as the 6th & Brushy building.
